Home School Communication
We know that good communication links between home and school are essential to build a positive partnership in the interests of every child. With working parents teachers are happy to hold telephone discussions if required. Apart from the daily informal contact we include a range of other methods of communication.
Parent mail
This is an e-mail service whereby the school can send letters to parents regarding specific events that are taking place in school thus saving time and paper. Paper copies are available from the school office if you are unable to access e-mail. There is a master file containing all letters sent out during the current academic year kept in the main entrance for parents to consult at any time.
Website
www.irchester.northants.sch.uk – All newsletters, diary dates and school information including policies are available to view on this site.
Text messages
Parents are contacted by text message to invite them to attend Gold Award. Text messages may also be sent in case of last minute changes e.g. cancellation of an after school club.
Parent Voice
This is a forum for parents to meet and discuss any issues, concerns or developments regarding the school. Governors attend and members of staff are invited to talk about school initiatives and various aspects of school life. The meetings are held at 9am and 7pm to enable all parents to attend, plus there is a suggestions box outside the main office. Minutes and agendas are available on the Parent Voice section of the school website.
